How We Can Help

We offer comprehensive evaluations and behavioral support for autistic individuals and those with neurodevelopmental differences, from age 2 through adulthood. Our two most common and most essential referrals are ASD and intellectual disability evaluations, which open doors to New Mexico’s autism services and developmental disability waiver.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Evaluation

We use gold-standard tools — including the ADOS-2 — to provide comprehensive, strengths-based ASD evaluations for individuals of all ages. An ASD diagnosis in New Mexico is the key that unlocks autism services and the developmental disability waiver, opening doors to speech therapy, occupational therapy, behavioral support, and more.

In New Mexico, this is our most common and most essential referral.

Intellectual Disability Assessment

We assess intellectual functioning and adaptive behavior to provide thorough, accurate ID evaluations, including for individuals with complex support needs or limited verbal communication. An intellectual disability diagnosis is the key to New Mexico’s developmental disability waiver, which funds critical long-term supports.

Experienced with co-occurring autism, medical conditions, and significant support needs.

ADHD Evaluation

ADHD is frequently evaluated alongside ASD and ID, and is one of the most missed diagnoses, especially in women, girls, and adults. Our evaluations assess attention, executive functioning, and processing, rule out co-occurring conditions, and provide the documentation needed for school, college, and workplace accommodations.

Includes differential diagnosis to distinguish ADHD from anxiety, learning disabilities, and other conditions.

Learning Disorder Evaluation

Learning disorders — including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia — reflect a different way the brain processes academic information. Without an accurate diagnosis, children don’t have the accommodation they need to show what they truly know and can do. We provide the documentation required for IEP eligibility, 504 plans, and extended time.

Prepares families to advocate effectively at IEP and 504 meetings.

Communication Disorder Evaluation

We evaluate language, social communication, and pragmatic differences — particularly when communication difficulties may be related to autism or another neurodevelopmental condition. We coordinate findings with speech-language pathologists and provide documentation for school teams.

Covers language disorder, social (pragmatic) communication disorder, and related conditions.

Anxiety & Tic Disorder Evaluation

Anxiety and tic disorders are significantly more common in autistic individuals and those with ADHD, and they often look different in neurodivergent people, making them harder to identify. We specialize in assessing these conditions in the context of a full neurodevelopmental profile and provide treatment recommendations including CBT and CBIT.

Includes differential diagnosis: tics vs. stimming, anxiety vs. behavioral rigidity.

Behavioral Support Services

When behaviors create real safety risks or prevent participation in daily life, they deserve skilled, compassionate support. As a licensed psychologist and BCBA-D, Dr. Martins conducts Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), designs individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and trains families and school staff in implementation.

Grounded in ABA and a neurodiversity-affirming philosophy: every intervention should build independence, not just manage behavior.

Expertise You Can Trust. Care You Can Feel.
