Evidence-Based Evaluation & Behavioral Support

We offer comprehensive evaluations and individualized behavioral support services for autistic individuals and those with intellectual disability, ADHD, learning differences, and related neurodevelopmental conditions — from age 2 through adulthood. Our most common referrals are for autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability evaluations, which open doors to New Mexico’s developmental disability waivers and autism services. Every service is grounded in the best available evidence and delivered with a neurodiversity-affirming approach.

What We Evaluate

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Our ASD evaluations use gold-standard diagnostic tools including ADOS-2 and ADI-R alongside cognitive, adaptive, and behavioral measures. We evaluate the full picture — unique qualities, individual profile, and support needs — and provide a comprehensive psychological report with specific recommendations. For many families in New Mexico, this evaluation is the key to accessing autism services and the developmental disability waiver.

Intellectual Disability

We provide thorough assessment of intellectual and adaptive functioning to accurately diagnose intellectual disability, determine level of support needs, and connect individuals with appropriate services. In New Mexico, an intellectual disability diagnosis is the key that unlocks the developmental disability waiver and a wide range of life-changing supports.

ADHD

Attention and hyperactivity difficulties affect individuals across the lifespan and are frequently evaluated alongside autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability. Our ADHD evaluations include rating scales, clinical interviews, cognitive testing, and behavioral observation. We’ll establish a clear picture and rule out co-occurring conditions that can look similar.

Learning Disorders

Reading, writing, and math disorders often go unidentified for years. We evaluate academic achievement, cognitive processing, and related skills to identify learning disabilities and provide schools with the documentation needed for accommodation and IEP eligibility.

Communication Disorders

We assess language processing, pragmatic communication, and related skills — particularly important when language differences may co-occur with autism or other developmental conditions.

Anxiety & Tic Disorders

Anxiety disorders and tic conditions are common in neurodivergent individuals. We assess these conditions as part of comprehensive evaluations and as standalone consultations when needed.

What Happens During an Evaluation?

We know that beginning the evaluation process can feel overwhelming.
Here’s what to expect when you work with us:

Intake & Records Review

We’ll gather relevant background information, medical and school records, and rating forms from parents, caregivers, or teachers as appropriate.

Evaluation Sessions

Evaluations typically include direct testing with the individual, clinical interviews with parents/caregivers, and standardized behavioral observation. Number of sessions varies by evaluation type.
